Configuring Application Settings on IIS 7.0

IIS 7.0 is the web server that is on Windows Server 2008.  There have been a lot of changes that have been made to the IIS web server from NT and on.  So, companies are starting to use it more frequently.  it is a major part of SharePoint.  If you don't understand IIS forget about understanding a lot of different products.  In this course we will talk about the differences with previous IIS,  We will install and configure IIS.  In other courses we will spend time configuring IIS.  If you are an Exchange Administrator, SQL Administrator, SharePoint Administrator, Web Administrator etc etc, then this course is for you.  We will be learning about configuring application settings.   There is more to a website than you would expect.   You can configure a lot more settings and get pretty granular.   A lot of the settings you configure in your control panel on your hosting platform.   in IIS 7.0 you configure these settings in the IIS 7.0 management console, PowerShell and also in the AppCmd.   We will be using the IIS 7.0 management console to configure the application settings.
